Theresa was born in Saint John New Brunswick, Canada. Her impulse to create images began at an early age with incessant drawing on paper brought home to her by her father who preferred that his toddler daughter not destroy his daily newspaper before he had a chance to read it.
She began her formal art training at Mount Allison University and then Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Theresa has held studios in Fredericton, Saint John and now in her home in Miramichi, N.B., which she shares with her husband and two sons.
Theresa is committed to visual art education, in the high school where she teaches visual art, in her community as the founder and president of The Miramichi Art Corps, and in her province as a VP of the Visual art Educators Association.
"The art impulse does not always obey intentions."
